Perchtoldsdorf vigorously supports sports activities, granting
considerable subsidies to sports clubs. The financial support is given
to amateur, competitive and professional sports activities alike.
The generous premises of the leisure centre (Freizeitzentrum) offer indoor and outdoor swimming and saunas and bouldering all year round.
Apart from the heavily used ice skating rink at the leisure centre,
where ice curling is also practiced, there are not a great many
facilities for winter sports. In case of a favourable snow situation,
which is rare, the heath is a real paradise for tobogganing and sledging
.
Jogging & Nordic-walking trails:visitors find an
information panel with clearly marked trails at the town centre above
the church in Hyrtlgasse at the entrance to Begrischpark. An information
folder is available at the InfoCenter.
Parapluie mountain bike track: the track leads from the heath
parking facility (Berggasse) along asphalted
Heidestraße/Schutzhausstraße up to Gasthaus Kugelwiese. The signposted
forest road may only be used from March to October during daylight
hours; no downhill track.
